Finished....again...

I'm happy to report that the quilt is finished...again. I have now redone the top quilting in red embroidery thread. It's beautiful...it's done...I'm relieved. I also took this time to completely finish stitching around the turtle blocks in cream. I'll be trimming yuck threads for years to come, but I'd rather do than than to be ripping out stitches for years to come.

Still haven't made a label...but I have time to think about that one. At least it's usable now. :)

And I will try to remember not to wash it with anything "linty".

Finished Quilt!

I am just now realizing that I didn't post a picture of the finished quilt. I did finish it a few weeks before our trip to China in early November. I was probably too busy trying to pack.

It's been washed several times since November. I'm now discovering a few problems with it. It's SO sad! The quilt stitching "pops" any time there is any tension on the fabric. I used Coats & Clark "bowl of cherries" quilting thread. I will NEVER use that stuff again. I now have to go back over the entire quilt & use invisible thread over the red thread to secure it before it gets much worse. Not what I was looking forward to doing...

The other problem is the backing fabric attracts lots of lint. It attracts any lint from the dryer, loose threads & fuzz from the inner batting. It's like a magnet. I'm GRRRRing over this quilt.
